Personnel Policies
Because we, unfortunately, live in a litigious society, there are constantly new employment law cases before the courts, and new precedents are continually being set. To ensure that your organization’s policies are up-to-date, it is important to review the contents periodically. If your policies have not been reviewed in the past five years, the time has probably arrived to update the policies to include any statutory and regulatory changes, as well as significant new policies resulting from court decisions.
At Ray Associates, Inc., our approach to employee handbook creation, revision, and updating is practical and directed toward the implementation of our policies. We practice careful project organization and control. Our discipline of good planning and supervision pays off in superior performance by our staff. We pay careful attention to detail. To clarify all of the laws, statutes, and regulations that comprise a strong, defensible employee handbook, Ray Associates includes in each policy manual specific legal references and case law citations that affect how an organization conducts its human resource management business.
Ray Associates, Inc, submits all human resources policies as drafts to our clients before we officially present them, resulting in products that have the full support of the client's management. We also present our products to the client in forms that are ready for adoption and use. We place a premium on producing practical products tailored to the needs of each client.
In addition, we understand how difficult it can be to get a group of elected officials to embrace a new or revised set of policies and procedures. To facilitate handbook implementation, Katherine B. Ray, SPHR,, a company principal, conducts a one-day workshop for elected officials and department heads to explain significant personnel policy changes and answer any questions officials might have.
